Beginning with a whole, isolated tooth, the operator slices through the image to unveil internal locations for viewing.

After isolating an individual tooth, including removing adacent material from the image on the screen, the ScanVision user adjusts the image settings to highlight the material types of interest.

Moving along any 3-D axis, the user can 'slice' through the image removing material along a perpendicular plane to the axis.
